SCHOLARSHIPS

  1.  The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

This is an achievement-based  scholarship for graduating high school senior students recognizing them for their capacity to lead and serve as well as their commitment to making a significant impact in their school and community.

Award Amount:  $20,000

2.  Thurgood Marshall College Fund – Apple HBCU Scholar Program

Scholarships are merit based and applicants must show a financial need .  Applicants must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year accredited HBCU or predominately Black institution.  This scholarship does target STEM students, but opportunities do exist for students in other disciplines as well.

Award Amount:  Up to $25,000

3.  Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship Program

The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program award scholarships to outstanding community college students with financial need to help them transfer to one of the nation’s top 4-year colleges or universities to complete their bachelor’s degree.

Award Amount:  Up to $40,000

Deadline:  October 24, 2017

The Jack Kent College Scholarship Program reward scholarships to high-achieving high school seniors, with financial need, to help them attend one of the nation’s top 4-year colleges and universities.

Award Amount:  Up to $40,000/year

4.  Foot Locker Scholar Athletes

This scholarship honors student athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sport, their school and community.  Twenty recipients will be chosen to receive scholarship awards.

Award Amount:  $20,000

6.  The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation Scholarship  (SMART) 

This is a scholarship awarded to students by the Department of Defense which carries with it full tuition, a stipend of $25,000 to $38,000,  a summer internship, and employment at a Department of Defense facility upon graduation.  students selected for this scholarship will have to be pursuing a technical degree in one of the 19 STEM careers identified on the SMART website.

7.  Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program

This is a 10-week internship program which gives undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to participate in research at a navy laboratory.  It’s goal is to encourage students to pursue science and engineering careers by having them participate in research with the navy under the guidance of a research mentor.

Award:  Internship and $5,400 to $10,800 Stipend

8.  Women in Aviation International

This organization support women pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace.  There are a number of scholarships available through the organization, however, one must become a member by November 1, 2017 in order to apply for the 2018 scholarships offered.

Award:  Varies

9.  Barry Goldwater Scholarship

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a full-time sophomore or junior at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university.   You must also be pursuing a research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering.  Application for the scholarship must be done through your school’s  designated campus representative, which can be found under Campus Representative Locator on the below website.

Award:  Up to $7,500/year

10.  National Society of Black Engineers

The organization of the National Society of Black Engineers is designed to provide support and encouragement for young African-American student in their pursuit of a career in engineering.  In accomplishing that goal, they also offer a number of scholarship opportunities to assist students in financing their post-secondary education.  In order to apply, one will have to become a member of the organization.  You can find out more by visiting their website below.

11.  Society of Women Engineers

Through the Society of Women Engineers, a student can apply for numerous scholarships offered if they are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited ABET college or university in pursuit of a career in engineering, engineering technology or computer science.  In order to apply for any offered scholarships, a student must become a member of the organization

12.  Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

The Jackie Robinson Foundation award scholarships to minority high school graduates  showing leadership potential and financial need and plan to obtain a degree from a 4-year college or university.  Once the awardee is selected the scholarship is granted to them over their 4 years of study.

Award:  $28,000/4 years

Application Period:  November 1, 2017 to February 15, 2018

13.  Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway Promotion and Contest

Dr. Pepper is offering a contest for any student to enter for a chance to win up to $100,000 in tuition money.  It requires that you submit a short essay (350 characters or less) telling how you will will change the world, and then getting your friends to vote for you.  To find out more please visit the website indicated below.

14.  Scholarship America Dream Award

Scholarship America administers what is called the Dream Award which was established for students across the United States who are entering their second year or higher of education beyond high school.  To be eligible a student must also be at least 17 years of age, studying to obtain an associate or first bachelor’s degree and also must be able to demonstrate financial need.

Award:  $5,000 to $15,000

15.  Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship

Wendy’s give scholarship awards to recognize high school senior athletes that participate in at least one school-sponsored sport, have at least a B average, and have demonstrated leadership ability in their school and community.

Award:  $1,000 to $10,000

16.  AXA Achievement Scholarship

AXA provide scholarships to high school seniors throughout the United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at a 2-year or 4-year college or university.

Award:  $2,500 to $25,000

17.  American Nuclear Society Scholarship Program

American Nuclear Society (ANS) award scholarships to high school, undergraduate and graduate students based on criteria such as GPA, test scores, financial need, career goals and objectives, etc.  Students must be a member of ANS  to apply.

Award:  $1,000 to $4,000

Application Period:  November 15, 2017 to April 1, 2018

18.  American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

This organization award scholarships to undergraduate  students who are current ASCE student members and have completed at leat one semester or quarter of study in the next academic year.

19.  American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

ASME provide scholarships to community college, undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a course of study in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a closely related subject.  You must be a student member of ASME to apply.

20.  The Generation Google Scholarship

This award is provided to high school, undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing a computer science or computer engineering degree.  The student must also be from an underrepresented group in the field of computer science (African-American, Hispanic, American Indian, or Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander)

21.  PayScale’s Women in STEM Scholarship

PayScale provide scholarships to current college student and college-bound women who are  majoring in science, technology, engineering or math.

Award:  $2,500

22.  Davidson Fellows Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to outstanding young people, 18 years of age and under, who have completed a significant piece of work in the field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, and philosophy.  They also have a category entitled “Outside the Box”.

Award:  $10,000 to $50,000

23.  Burger King Scholarship

Burger King award scholarships to high school seniors throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico who plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university or a vocational-technical school.

Award:  $1,000 to $50,000

24.  Ron Brown Scholar Program

This program award scholarships to graduating African-American high school seniors who excel academically, show exceptional leadership potential and participate in community service activities.

Award:  $10,000/year (for 4 years)

25.  Dell Scholars Program

This program award scholarships to high school seniors who have overcome personal challenges in their lives related to their families, schools or communities; participated in a college readiness program; and have the goal of obtaining a college degree.

Award:  $20,000
